Kelly Coyne is a USDF Gold, Silver and Bronze Medalist and Grand Prix rider.
A native of Naples, Maine, Kelly began her riding career in the early 2000s.
Although she grew up in southern Maine with limited access to a good education and plentiful resources as a horsewoman, Kelly began riding dressage in 2006 when, in her words, she” stumbled upon the opportunity of a lifetime”. This opportunity at Pineland Farms in New Gloucester, Maine is where Kelly fell in love with dressage after seeing how it can help every horse in every discipline. It was during her tenure at Pineland Farms, Kelly met her now longtime coach, Michael Poulin.
Through many years of Michael’s coaching and hard work, Kelly rode her first Grand Prix in 2013 and has been training horses and riders in classical dressage ever since.
After moving to Virginia Beach in 2017, Kelly was able to expand her teaching and training offerings at a few local barns. In 2020, Kelly Coyne Dressage was officially born and has been located at Crescent Hill Stables in Virginia Beach ever since.
Kelly enjoys teaching horses and riders the theory and principles of classical dressage and helping them advance through the levels. Junior riders and adult amateurs alike, she has a program to help her riders and their horses achieve their goals. She also seeks out opportunities to ride with other trainers and clinicians to further her own education to better support the horses and riders in her program.
